CA's Secretary of State, Dr. Shirley Weber

Villa Park, CA-It was an honor to meet our new California Secretary of State, Dr. Shirley Weber today at the home of Karen and Andy Thorburn. Dr. Weber is a former teacher, college professor, school board president, and state legislator. Dr. Weber is California’s first African American Secretary of State, the fourth woman to serve in the role, and only the fifth African American person to serve as a state constitutional officer in California’s 170-year history. Born to share croppers, Dr. Weber has made it her life’s work to make sure voting access is a given and not something searched for. Like me, Dr. Weber grew up in San Diego County, and we are so proud of all she has achieved. Please take Dr. Weber into consider for your vote this June during the primary election and beyond. She’s standing up for every Californian!
